Announced: McGinn for Mayor

Seattle’s future is at risk. Our school system is broken. We lag behind the rest of the country in internet infrastructure. And buses on most routes in the city are overcrowded and unreliable.

Seattle is one of the smartest and most creative cities in the world. We can do better, and we have to.

Michael McGinn believes in Seattle’s future. He will:

  • Commit the city to turning around our schools, including direct accountability and city control of the district if no progress in two years
  • Build out next-generation fiber optic networking to every home and business in the city
  • Eliminate overcrowded buses and bring reliable local transit to Seattle

Michael is former president of the Greenwood Community Council and former local chair of the Sierra Club. An attorney, he was a partner at Stokes Lawrence before founding Seattle Great City Initiative in 2006.

Michael lives in north Seattle with his wife Peggy and children Jack, Miyo and Cian.
