Free Concert on Friday to Celebrate McGinn for Mayor

A concert to support Michael McGinn for Mayor will take place on World Environment Day, Friday, June 5, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.at Gas Works Park.

David Montgomery, a MacArthur “Genius” Fellow, will play a set with his band “Big Dirt.” The Seattle band “Proud Wonderful Me” will also perform. This event is free and open to the public; everyone is welcome.

David Montgomery is both a musician and geomorphologist. He was awarded the MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship in 2008. He published King of Fish: The Thousand Year Run of Salmon in 2003, and Dirt: The Erosion of Civilizations in 2007. continue reading »
